BAZALIISKII Vladimir

Mr. Vladimir Bazaliiskii is a long-time member of BAP, associated with the Scientific Research Centre “Baikalskii Region” at Irkutsk State University.  He was responsible for the excavations of many of the most significant cemeteries in the region, including Lokomotiv, Ust-Ida I and, most recently, the extraordinary Shamanka II on southwest Baikal. His research focuses on Middle Holocene hunter–gatherers of the Cis-Baikal region and includes such topics as mortuary ritual, culture change, chronology, and material culture.
