Welcome our new BAP team member, Linda-Helen Habermann!

We have a new BAP team member! Ms. Linda-Helen Habermann is currently finalizing her BAP-related bachelor project supervised by Prof. Pavel Tarasov in the Palaeontology division of the Institute of Geological Sciences, at Freie Universität Berlin. Her thesis focuses on pollen analysis and pollen-based correlation of two sediment cores from Lake Ochaul in the Upper Lena microregion of Cis-Baikal, covering the past 13,000 years. Andreas Labohm earns Master’s degree!

Congratulations to Andreas Labohm (Master’s student Freie Universität Berlin) who recently very successfully defended his BAP-related Master’s project! Title: Results of the malacological analysis of the Och18-II sediment core from Lake Ochaul (Cis-Baikal region of Siberia) and their implications for the reconstruction of the Lateglacial-Holocene environments. Andreas’ results will be included in the upcoming research paper he is working on. Congratulations, Andreas!

Gwen Le Bras earns Master’s degree!

Congratulations to BAP graduate student Gwen Le Bras, who recently earned their Master’s degree! Gwen is now a PhD student! They have been awarded a grant from their University to continue their PhD program under the supervision of Dr. Klervia Jaouen in Toulouse in September. Kudos and all the best to Gwen! Welcome our new BAP team member, Gwen Le Bras!

We have a new BAP team member! Mx. Gwen LE BRAS is completing their MSC under the supervision of Dr. Klervia JAOUEN from January 2023 at the GET Department (Géosciences Environnement Toulouse) of the Observatoire Midi Pyrénées in Toulouse, France. Their mission is to trace the food web of Lake Baikal populations using stable zinc isotopes on dental enamel and food samples. They will also be trained in collagen extraction in order to perform isotopic analysis of the carbon [...]
